On March 27, the College of Management proudly welcomed Dr. Michel Delorme, Dean of the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University, Canada, for an official visit. The visit not only highlighted the longstanding international friendship between the two institutions, but also facilitated in-depth discussions on global business accreditation trends, sustainable development education, and future collaborative initiatives.

The partnership between the College of Management and Dr. Delorme dates back several years to their initial meeting at an AACSB International Conference. At that time, both parties reached a strong consensus on the importance of social responsibility and a global vision in modern business education.
Dr. Delorme’s visit to Taiwan—originally scheduled for an EQUIS accreditation peer review at National Chengchi University—provided a timely opportunity to deepen his understanding of Taiwan’s higher education landscape. Building on the mutual trust established through international accreditation networks, this visit marked both a reunion of long-time colleagues and a significant step toward closer institutional collaboration.

On 19 December, Dr. Ian O. Williamson, Dean of the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, made his first official visit to National Taipei University, signaling a new phase in the partnership between the two institutions.
Dean Williamson was welcomed by President Daw‑Tung Lin, with arrangements coordinated by General Affairs Section Dean Chia-Hui Wang. He was accompanied by College of Business Dean Chi‑Jui Haung, AACSB and International Relations Director Chun‑Yu Lin, College of Public Affairs Dean Min‑Tsann Chen, and College of Social Sciences Dean Chao‑Yin Lin. Dean Williamson later moved to the College of Business, where Graduate Institute of Information Management Director Min‑Yuh Day and College Secretary Po‑Keng Cheng joined the discussions.
Since establishing a sister‑school relationship in 2019, Taipei University’s College of Business and UC Irvine have successfully launched a “Bachelor’s + Master’s Dual Degree Program,” with four students already participating. Building on this success, both sides are now actively exploring a new “1+1 Master’s Dual Degree Model” to broaden academic exchange and student opportunities.
The itinerary included a tour of the College of Business, a commemorative flag‑raising ceremony in the lobby, and a visit to the college’s history gallery. The two deans also exchanged views on attending the AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) together in April.

Dean Jia-Hsing Huang of the College of Business at Woosong University, Korea, recently visited our College of Business and held a roundtable discussion with faculty and administrators from several Taiwanese business schools to exchange insights on the process and practical experiences of pursuing AACSB accreditation.
Woosong University is well known for its highly internationalized educational approach, with long-standing commitments to English-medium instruction and industry–academia collaboration. Remarkably, the university achieved AACSB accreditation within just five years of its founding, demonstrating its strong ambition and execution capability in assuring the quality of business education and aligning with international standards. During the meeting, Dean Huang shared the key strategies that enabled Woosong University to obtain accreditation in such a short period, including institutional framework building, faculty development, curriculum design, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
Several leaders from Taiwanese business schools were also invited to join the discussion, including Dean Ching-Fu Yang of the College of Management at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), Director Chieh-Peng Lin of the Institute of Business and Management at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and Dean Fen-Mei Liu of the College of Business and Management at Chihlee University of Technology. Together, they exchanged experiences on the challenges encountered in promoting AACSB accreditation and the strategies used to address them.
NKUST, formed through the merger of three universities, operates within a relatively complex governance and organizational structure, making the promotion of AACSB accreditation particularly challenging. Dean Yang shared NKUST’s recent experience of successfully completing its AACSB review, emphasizing the importance of quality assurance systems and cross-campus integration in a merged university. As a member of the AACSB Peer Review Team (PRT), his perspectives and recommendations were especially valuable to the participants.
The discussion was lively, with participants actively raising questions and sharing their own institutions’ practical experiences and difficulties in pursuing AACSB accreditation. The visiting guest also provided concrete advice and valuable insights on accreditation preparation, documentation, continuous improvement review (CIR), and how to respond to peer review teams, helping participants gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of AACSB evaluation criteria and practices.
Through this cross-national and cross-institutional exchange, the forum not only strengthened participants’ understanding of the core principles of AACSB, but also laid a solid foundation for future improvements in business education quality and the development of international collaboration.

Expanding Global Collaboration in Higher Education
National Taipei University’s College of Business and the International College of Sustainability and Innovation have officially signed a partnership agreement with the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Business Administration, marking a significant step forward in global academic cooperation. The deal strengthens ties between the two institutions and opens new opportunities for research, faculty and student exchanges, and international collaboration.
Under the agreement, graduate students from the two college will be eligible to join UIC’s dual-degree programs, choosing either a two-year MBA or a one-year MS track. Through the credit transfer arrangement, the MBA track could be shortened to a one‑year program. Undergraduate students will also have the chance to apply to UIC during their senior year and continue on to its MS program after graduation.
One of the most notable aspects of the partnership is its fixed tuition structure. UIC will offer a tuition discount of about 35 percent compared to the standard rate for international students, significantly reducing the financial burden for participants.
UIC’s business programs are all STEM-certified, meaning graduates will qualify for up to three years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the United States. This gives students valuable opportunities to gain professional experience in the U.S. job market and enhance their global competitiveness.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment by National Taipei University and University of Illinois Chicago to advancing higher education through practical cooperation. On December 12, 2025, the NTPU College of Business USR Project hosted the awards ceremony for the "REsolution" Sustainable Technology Innovation Proposal Competition. Centered on the theme "Sustainability × Technology × Innovation," the competition challenged students to solve real-world pain points for local brands, including eFOOOD, Tian Fang Tea, and SHUANG WANG (The Shu's Pottery).

1st Place: CYBJ – Developed an AI Digital Twin and immersive tour for SHUANG WANG, merging technology with pottery heritage to attract younger generations.

Dr. Andriy Bodnaruk, associate dean of the University of Illinois Chicago’s College of Business Administration, made his first visit to the university this week, underscoring growing ties between the two institutions.
Dr. Bodnaruk was received by Dean of International Affairs Thijs A. Velema, College of Business Dean Chi-Jui Huang, International College of Sustainability Innovation Dean Sherry Chia-Ying Chan, and other faculty leaders including Min-Yuh Day, Chun-Yu Lin, Josef Kuo-Hsun Ma, Chien-Lin Lu, and Haobijam Basanta. As global emphasis on corporate sustainability and information transparency continues to rise, Artificial Intelligence is becoming a pivotal tool for analyzing corporate sustainability reports. Supported by the Ministry of Education’s AI CUP project, the "VeriPromiseESG 2026: ESG Sustainability Commitment Verification Challenge" kicked off its campus tour at the Bo-Ai Campus of the University of Taipei on March 6, 2026. The event attracted nearly 50 students via both in-person and online participation to explore innovative AI applications in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sector.
Bridging AI and Sustainability
The seminar was led by Professor Min-Yuh Day, Director of the Graduate Institute of Information Management at National Taipei University (NTPU), and hosted by Assistant Professor Ching-Tai Chen from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Taipei. The curriculum included competition overviews, dataset analysis, and sample code tutorials, designed to help students master AI techniques for text analysis of sustainability reports and encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The VeriPromiseESG 2026 challenge is a marquee event under the Ministry of Education’s AI CUP series. It is a collaborative international effort between National Taipei University, Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and the University of Tsukuba. Focusing on the intersection of AI × ESG × Natural Language Processing (NLP), participants develop AI models to determine if corporate sustainability claims are backed by clear, verifiable evidence, thereby enhancing the readability and credibility of ESG disclosures.
Hands-on Technical Training
As the first stop of the campus tour, the Northern Taiwan session featured comprehensive programming tutorials. Professor Day introduced the research philosophy behind the competition and guided students through the AIdea platform, explaining registration, scoring mechanisms, and data usage regulations.
"ESG has become a critical indicator of corporate governance," stated Professor Day. "AI technology can analyze massive volumes of textual data, significantly improving the efficiency and transparency of sustainability information verification."
The technical sessions provided deep dives into the competition’s mechanics:
- Dataset Insight: Project Assistant Hsin-Ting Lu detailed data sources and field structures to assist students in feature analysis.
- Practical Implementation: Project Assistant Wen-Tse Chen demonstrated the sample code, covering data preprocessing, architecture design, and baseline model construction to lower the barrier for beginners.
Empowering the Next Generation
"By analyzing sustainability reports through AI, students not only sharpen their data science skills but also gain a profound understanding of the role ESG plays in social development," Professor Day added.
The organizing team emphasized that the fusion of AI and sustainability governance is a burgeoning field. Through the AI CUP and its campus tours, the program provides a practice-oriented platform for students to gain project experience using real-world data while deepening their understanding of corporate responsibility.

The collaboration integrates business research expertise with AI-powered medical imaging technology, focusing on innovation, value-based healthcare, insurance applications, and ESG-driven sustainable management. Together, the two institutions aim to develop a cross-disciplinary cooperation model with measurable outcomes and long-term impact.
Dean Huang Chi-Jui of the College of Business noted that this partnership represents not only a deepened connection between academia and industry, but also a proactive response to critical challenges facing today’s insurance and healthcare systems. These include medical inflation, information asymmetry, claims disputes, and the growing demand for sustainable governance. The initiative is expected to serve as a benchmark for advancing smart healthcare and sustainable finance in Taiwan.

Meanwhile, JelloX Biotech centers its operations on AI-driven 3D medical imaging technology, transforming complex CT and MRI scans into intuitive, decision-ready, and quantifiable three-dimensional models. Chairman Sun Chi-Hsin of JelloX Biotech stated that the company’s AI 3D medical imaging technology converts intricate diagnostic images into comprehensible and actionable 3D models, now extensively utilized in both clinical and insurance contexts. By combining academic insights with industry expertise, this partnership addresses pressing issues such as medical inflation, information asymmetry, and claims disputes. AI 3D imaging represents one of the fastest-growing applications in the field of AI healthcare, enhancing precision diagnosis, preoperative planning, and doctor–patient communication. Through this collaboration, innovative business models can be more rapidly implemented in Taiwan, benefiting patients, hospitals, and the financial and insurance sectors alike.
Dean Huang added that this joint initiative brings together business decision-making and institutional analysis with practical healthcare technology applications. - For All Students
- No Registration Fee: The test is fully funded.
- Students who achieve 230 points or above in either Speaking or Writing, or 70 points or above in both Listening and Reading, may apply for recognition under the University’s “Foreign Language Proficiency Benchmark” (subject to departmental regulations).
- During their period of study, students who complete at least two EMI/ESAP courses or accumulate four EMI/ESAP credits and achieve CEFR B2 or above in all four skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing) may apply for the “Student English Proficiency Award” (subject to announcements by the Office of Bilingual Education).
- Students who achieve:
- CEFR B2+ or above in all four skills will receive a certificate, a silver award, and a cash prize of NT$1,000 from LTTC.
- CEFR C1 or above in all four skills will receive a certificate, a gold award, and a cash prize of NT$3,000 from LTTC.

Taipei, January 20, 2026 — Deloitte Taiwan today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the College of Business and the International College of Sustainability Innovations of National Taipei University. Witnessed by President Lin Dao-Tong of National Taipei University and Board Director Chang Keng-Hsi of Deloitte Taiwan, the partnership centers on four core themes: (1) Artificial Intelligence Technology and Governance, (2) Sustainability Transformation, (3) Financial Crime Prevention and Fraud Investigation, and (4) Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Strategy.
Through this collaboration, both parties aim to integrate academic research with industry practice, strengthening long-term cooperation in teaching, research, and talent development. By combining scholarly expertise with practical insights, the partnership seeks to lay a solid foundation for the next generation of professional leaders.

National Taipei University brings to the partnership its strong academic foundation, extensive experience in talent cultivation, and expertise in public policy.
